"...Mountain View Elementary School is nice, but having our own church building would give us, as a teen ministry, a real place to call our own. Teens would definitely be drawn to that more, and it would be a great place to invite other teens." - a 16-year old student at Turner Ashby High School
Faith Community Church will be having a church-wide yard sale on Saturday, September 8th at the Hammack's house (Belmont Yard Sale). All proceeds from the yard sale will go to the church building fund. We will also use this time to hand out free cookies and lemonade to children the day of the yard sale. If you can donate pre-priced yard sale items or cookies, please bring them on Friday night or by 6am Saturday morning. Please contact the church for more information.

Each week in the bulletin, we will put a "goal thermometer" in the financial section, showing about where FCC stands in raising money for the building fund. At present, we are almost to the 20% mark.
The campout will take place on Friday, Sept. 7, 6pm - Saturday, Sept 8, 3pm at the Nott's house.
A nice sction under a grove of trees has been cleared and we are going to "Circle the Wagon" and have a Sunday potluck at the new property.
Would you sacrifice a weekend, alone with the kids, if you knew he would come back as a better data, husband, or grandfather? Would you pay big bucks to just get him out of your hair for a weekend? Would you like to see him more alive to the things of God? Well, your answer is here! For just $69, you can send him off to the Men's Retreat in Goshen, VA, Sept 28-30. Sign up in the lobby!
Our next communion will be on Sunday, September 2.
Without any prodding or coaxing, our Jr. and Sr. Teens have decided to begin sitting in the front 3 rows during the worship service. Awesome! Keep it up! What a powerful statement that makes, not only to the rest of the congregation, but also to new families when they worship with us for the first time. Thanks!
A good number of men showed up for our first helping hands day, as we did some clean up and repair work for one of the families in the church. Thanks to Junior for leading this initiative! And many thanks to the others who helped out that day!
A great weekend was had by all who attended the campout this year. The facility over all came through to being a nicer location for us. The Talent/No Talent revealed some tremendous feats. (It's too bad Ed Sullivan no longer has his show!) A survey has been completed by the campers who attended, and with a few adjustments, we can make next year's campout the best ever!
Please, please, please, whenever you spot a new person on a Sunday, be sure you do all you can to see that they fill out a Friendship Register. Getting their name and address gives us an opportunity to send them a visitor packet and let them know a lot about our ministry at Faith Community Church.
Contact Pastor Keith or one of our small group leaders for more information. Contact information can also be found on the back of the bulletin.
