Congregation Makes Decisions Regarding Finances for New Building!
At our congregational meeting on May 6th, a presentation was made by Doug Lambert, representing the Leadership team and the Capital Campaign Team, regarding some of the financial parameters of our anticipated new building. The following are those directives:
- A goal of raising $350,000 was set to be raised over a 3-year period beginning June 1, 2007. We will break this down into increments of:
- Year One - $115,000
- Year Two - $115,000
- Year Three - $120,000
These benchmarks will assist us in realizing if we are on target with the project.
- To increase our weekly budget need beginning June 1, 2007 by $250/week.
- Once the above capital is raised, to agree to borrow up to 3 or 4 times our annual income of Faith Community Church.
These figures mean that the total building cost needs to be in the $800,000 range as opposed to the earlier presented figure of $1.15 million. The Building Team will strive to take the necessary steps to bring costs to the $800,000 level.
Note: More material was explained at the meeting. If you have questions about any of the above, please ask Doug Lambert, Building Team Chairman, or Mike Joseph, Capital Campaign Team Chairman.
Capital Campaign Team Name Selected!
The name of the team to assist our congregation in the raising of finances for our new building will be the Capital Campaign Team. It is made up of: Mike Joseph (Chairman), Jim Peak, Carol Nesselrodt, Ben Martin and Pastor Keith.
Natural Church Development Scores Received!
About 3 months ago, we had a survey taken of Faith Community Church that measures church health in 8 different categories. Based on the national average, we scored exceptionally well. Our two ministries where we scored the highest are Holistic Small Groups and Inspiring Worship Services. The two that we scored lowest on are Gift-oriented Ministry and Passionate Spirituality.
Steps are already being taken to address these needs. If you would like a free book to assist you in further understanding Natural Church Development, please contact Pastor Keith.
