Church Picnic/Baptism!

The picnic will be on June 27 at Riven Rock Park, Shelter #1. It will start around 12:30 pm. Please bring one or two dishes, depending on the size of your family! Beautiful baptism setting in a crystal clear pool! Please see Pastor Keith if you want to be baptized.

Searching for a Full-Time Associate Pastor!

Although in March, the Leadership Team was in search of a part-time youth pastor, due to a variety of things, that decision has been adapted into once again searching for a full-time Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Youth. The Leadership Team spent almost all of 2009 on that search and really feel it is the best decision to impact our church long term.

A candidate for this full-time position will be interviewing the weekend of June 12-13. He will speak to a combined group of Jr. and Sr. teens on Sunday morning (parents are welcome to attend as well.)

Small Group Ministry Update!

This ministry area is so critical to who we are as a church; therefore, the Leadership Team is in the process of trying to enhance this area of ministry. How will we do that?

  1. By creating opportunities for new leaders to step into the roles of leaders and assistant leaders. Loving God and loving people will be the crucial characteristics of someone to step into a leadership role.
  2. By infusing into each group the mindset of being missional in its values. Our groups will not only disciple and care for those within the group but will also make time to love our neighbors and serve the city.
  3. Have the maximum group size be approximately eight adults. Having more than that hinders multiplication and limits who can host a group because of the limitations of our homes.
  4. Strive to have seekers in each group.
  5. Launch new groups primarily in September and mid-January.
  6. Take scheduled breaks during the year (Dec. 15 - Jan. 15 and July - Aug.) to preserve leadership and as well to keep the system fresh and vital.
  7. Encourage people to occasionally change groups to get a flavor for others within our church.
  8. Try to have the entire church study the same thing within our small group system for two to three months out of the year (participation would be optional based on the desire of each group).
  9. Provide quality training for small group leaders.
  10. Regularly communicate what each group is studying.

Nashville Relief Mission!

Does anyone have any interest in brainstorming the possibility of putting a summer team together to go to Nashville? See Pastor Keith is you have any interest.

Summer Schedule for Faithland and Adult Class!

These two groups will meet through the end of June, but will not meet during the months of July and August. However, the Jr. and Sr. Teens will continue to meet through the summer.
